HCPCS:

Advanced Formulation. Precise Performance.

With origins dating back to 1932, Surgilube Sterile Surgical Lubricant is a premium product formulated exclusively from pharmaceutical-grade ingredients. Its sterile composition is useful for gynecological, urological, and a wide range of medical and surgical procedures.

  • Water-soluble formula is no-greasy and is non-staining.
  • Proprietary sterilization process maintains viscosity and crystal-clear clarity.
  • Not made with natural rubber latex — supports latex sensitivity or latex allergies.
  • Paraben-free formulation helps reduce exposure to chemicals that may cause adverse reactions, such as skin sensitivity.
  • Carbomer-free formulation helps minimize testing interference.*
  • Chlorhexidine Gluconate produces a bacteriostatic formula that helps minimize the presence and transmission of bacteria.

* Using carbomer-containing products with cervical cytology or urogenital testing may result in invalid or false negative results. 1,2,3

  3. Hologic® Thin-Prep® Pap Test Compatibility
  • The use of lubricants with the ThinPrep Pap test is not recommended. However, if a lubricant is necessary, Surgilube® Sterile Surgical Lubricant is validated by Hologic, Inc. for use with the ThinPrep Pap test when used as instructed. The use of lubricants (including personal lubricants) should be avoided prior to specimen collection. Lubricants can adhere to the filter membrane and may cause poorcell transfer to the slide. If its use is unavoidable, the lubricant should be used in minimum amounts.
  • Validated: Multiple lubricant lots run through periodic testing to ensure compatibility.
