Medicare and some other plans cover up to 200 catheters per month for each type.*

Other insurance plans may have different coverage limits, so it is important to review your plan’s specific benefits.

This maximum amount is intended for individuals with the highest supply needs; however, most people will not require that many. Your healthcare professional will determine the number that is appropriate for you based on your health needs. This information will be documented in your medical record.

*Types of catheters include straight tip, coudé tip, closed system, hydrophilic, or non-hydrophilic catheters.

If you need additional supplies, your healthcare professional will need to submit a letter explaining the medical need for the extra catheters. HR HealthCare Patient Services will then send the request for additional catheters directly to your insurance.

Traditional Medicare covers 80% of the cost, and you are responsible for the remaining 20% plus any remaining deductible.

ACHC accreditation shows that HR HealthCare meets recognized standards for quality and compliance, giving customers added confidence in our care and service. Learn more at achc.org.
